Stress Awareness Month

April marks Stress Awareness Month, an annual observance that aims to raise awareness about the negative impact of stress on physical and mental health.

Stress is a big issue for Britain today. In the UK’s largest ever stress survey, 74% of people said stress has made them feel overwhelmed and unable to cope.

Stress Awareness Month has been observed ever since 1992 and the month encourages open discussions about stress, reduce stigma around mental health, and promote healthy coping strategies.

How to spot the signs of stress

Stress is a heightened sense of pressure, which can affect any person at any stage of life. Stress can occur due to a range of factors such as life changes, being under pressure and facing uncertainty.
